Llíber Castell d'Aixa
We begin this route at the foot of the charming village of Llíber. From the start, we take a gravel path that leads us to the most popular climbing spot in the valley.
Shortly after, we begin the ascent towards Castell d’Aixa via an old path, once used to access the agricultural terraces. The climb starts with a fairly steep section, but soon we enter a path with a gentler slope that guides us to the final stretch of the ascent toward the castle.
Upon reaching the summit, we are rewarded with spectacular views of the entire Marina Alta. From there, one can admire, on one side, the Sierra de Seguili, Segària behind, and Ondara in the distance; the majestic Montgó and Jávea; Benitatxell; the Peñón de Ifach in Calpe; and, of course, an impressive panoramic view of the valley, with the Serra de Bèrnia and the Coll de Rates dominating the horizon.
The descent is made via a small path that crosses a forest and leads us to an old house in ruins. From this point, we enjoy one last beautiful panoramic view of the valley.
Further on, we connect with a small road that leads us back to the valley, reaching Xaló. We then arrive at the foot of Molí de Giner, where we take the Camí del Molí de Llíber, passing beneath the bridge we were just at.
Shortly after, a brief detour allows us to visit the Bassa dels Arcs.
We follow the Riu Gorgos until we reach Llíber.
We finish our route at the foot of an apricot tree, with the option to explore the village and enjoy a well-deserved rest. A journey full of history, nature, and unforgettable views!
