Benigembla El Cocoll
We begin the route from Benigembla, following a track that leads us to a well-defined trail. This initial stretch ascends along the ridge of the Serra de Ses Cordelleres, on its shady side, offering us spectacular views. To our right, imposing cliffs open up, allowing us to view the Barranc de l’Almadich and the Barranc dels Ponts from above. To our left, majestic peaks rise such as Penya l’Altar and Tosal del Pulupi, nearly reaching 1,000 meters. On the horizon, El Cavall Verd, Segària, and Montgó stand out.
The trail ends at a track that takes us to Pla d’en Moragues, a space converted into a forest airfield. From there, we continue climbing on another track until we reach the summit of Cocoll, at 1,045 meters of altitude. Although the surroundings are somewhat marred by a forest hut and fences, the effort is worth it for the views.
To descend, we take PR-CV 427, a well-maintained and marked trail. The descent is gradual and pleasant, passing by the Corral de Silvestre and the Aljup del Frare.
Finally, we arrive back at the village of Benigembla, completing a long route that is moderate in effort and free from technical difficulties, ideal for enjoying the nature and unique landscapes of the area.
